The Governor
Named for former Texas Governor, Richard Coke, who once used Carr Mansion as his summer home, this room was built during the initial construction of the estate. The original fireplace and mantle with lovely surrounding green tile is a centerpiece to the room. There is a luxury king-sized bed and private walk-in bath with stand up shower off the bedroom. Beautiful original windows open to the ocean breeze allowing guests to walk through to their own private veranda or enjoy the space from indoors in a private seating area by the natural light.

Unforgettable!
“This place is unforgettable and has captured our hearts and imagination as few others have, and someday we must return. The ambiance and amenities make their mark, but it is your kindness and hospitality that we will remember.”

Immersive historical experience!
“For those who like immersive historical experiences that harken back to the pre-1900 heyday when Galveston was not only a major port city, but the largest city in the state, there is nothing like staying at one of the grand old homes that once housed the town's elite.”
— P.L.
