The Preacher
This room, aptly named The Preacher, is a token to the pastor and his wife who lived upstairs in this room during the 1950's and led a church on the main floor of the estate for local Galveston residents. The Preacher suite has a king bed, of which the frame is original to the 1866 home. In the wall nook above the bed hangs a reclaimed ship flag from local shop, Nautical Antiques. The doors behind the private seating area were originally an access point into the next bedroom but have since been sealed for privacy adding to the character of the room. There is a walk-in restroom on the far side of the suite and an antique armoire piece with quaint sink. The clawfoot tub is framed in the center by beautiful bay windows, both added to the home during the 1889 expansion of the estate.
