The Church Lady
We lovingly named this suite The Church Lady after Shirley, our new friend who happened to be visiting the island one day during the final reconstruction of Carr Mansion in Spring 2018. She has since moved away from Texas, but the perfect timing allowed her to revisit her old home. She was the wife who helped pastor the church (see The Preacher suite) in the 1950's and we wanted to share her legacy.
This beautiful blue and coral room has tall French doors leading to a charming private deck overlooking the side of the property. The four poster queen bed frame is original to the home, and the private bathroom is complete with a gorgeous clawfoot tub and hand held shower faucet. The suite is both a feminine and soothing space with graceful details from the antique cane back settee and collected artwork, to the matching antique crystal lamps.
